Biscuits without cheating - woohoo This recipe is from another site and it sounds wonderful!
I'm going to give it a whirl.
Although I love my seeds, I was looking for a different way to cook them and have stumbled on a reasonable alternative to biscuits that is very simple.
Cut apple into small pieces and soften in pan with enough water to soften the apple and stop it burning, sprinkle of sweetener and cinnamon.
Grind linseed, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds together.
When apple softened add the ground up seeds and blend together with hand blender. Drop spoonfulls of the mixture onto baking paper and flatten into biscuit rounds. Bake in oven at around 180 for about 15 minutes, or until outside starts to crisp up. Leave to cool.
The outside goes slightly crispy and the inside stays soft like cookies. Especially nice if eaten while slightly warm. Feels like eating something naughty, but you're not!!

I have been making a variation to this recipe ------ I grate the apple, then mix in the grounded seeds, cinnamon and sweetner. Have also added a bit of ginger too - just to give a different taste.
They are nice both hot and cold. I take them for lunch at work.
:D :D :D

kardoo did you squeeze any juice out of the apple? When I tried these they were lovely but very runny and sticky snd took ages to cook properly and dry out.

HOW MANY DOES IT MAKE :?:
AND THE WAY YOU DID IT , IS IT YOUR ALLOWANCE FOR THE DAY :?: :?:

Yes LB, 1 fruit and your daily seed allowance. I did a double batch with grated apple, i kinda rolledlargish walnut size pieces in my hands then flattened them on the tray, it made 6 for the daily allowance which was quite filling.
Next time i will try making smaller ones and spreading them a little flatter so they dry out more as they were quite thick and the middle stays a bit soft.
I cooked them for 30 min at 180deg, another site said to let them cool in the oven, that might help them dry out a little more.
I used pink lady apples and added equal and cinnamon, next time i'll try Granny's which will give them more flavour,
On the whole it was nice to have something different after dinner but my husband wasn't keen on them. Cheers Mez

I managed to make 6 biscuits from my allowance for the day.
I microwaved the apple, for about 4 minutes on high. Blended together the apple and seeds, added a good dollop of cinnamon AND ginger, with 2 sweeteners. Next time I'll use 1 sweetener.
Baked on fan bake for 15 minutes, let cool on rack for 5.
Turned out great, was something different for a change. I'll definitely be making more in future. :)

Wow, I've made these twice now.. They are GREAT I eat 1 or 2 "cookies" after every meal, as my allowance makes 5-6... Have you tried putting them in your morning yoghurt? It's really nice, adds some crunch...
Thanks for the recipe
