Capsicums
At this time of year when capsicums are so expensive in the vege section, I have found the Delmaine Quartered Red Capsicums really great $3 something a jar and they last quite a while as there are quite a few in there. They are in a brine solution so slightly pickled and quite yummy in toasted MB wraps. best Donna

Thank you for that...I am spending more than I prefer to admit on capsicums at the moment... this sounds great

Hey girls - buy them in bulk next summer and chop up in big chunks to freeze. I just throw them in a grip bag - they keep their colour beautifully. I use them for cooking then can justify buying the odd fresh one out of season when I want them for salads.

We have a farmers market at Moore Wilsons each saturday morning and get most of our veges there. We spend about $40 for both of us and it lasts a week... HEAPS cheaper than the vege prices at the supermarkets!!

Hi Derek, Yes that market in Wellington is just great - love Moore Wilson's - we always visit whenever we are down there to visit my brother-in-law. Whangarei has a great Farmers' Market on Sat mornings, and $20 t0 $30 goes a long way.... veges for the week and all so lovely and fresh. Can't beat it! cheers Donna
