Hommus recipe ok for my hommus I just use a tin of chick peas a copious amount of garlic and enough tahini to make it all dip like and quite a bit of lemon juice. Sometimes i throw some salt ( VERY small amount) and pepper in too.
I drain the chickpeas and rinse them really well then i mash them. I usually use a potato masher for this tho I have used a stab mixer before.. Then I add a couple of spoons of garlic ( just kind of do it to taste) then pour in tahini ( its gotta be hulled) and stir it together, then add lemon juice untill its a dip consitency ( u need quite a bit).
This keeps well in the fridge in an airtight container, if you want you can add olive oil when adding the tahini, I have found it doesnt need it tho if you have enough lemon juice.
Then I just roast sweet potato, zuchini, onion, mushrooms and eggplant ( my allowance) and serve the hommus as my bean allowance. This is very filling and yumm!
Sorry I dont know exact quantities of everything.. I have never been big on measureing untill sureslim.
In a ideal world you would make this in a food processor... but... i still dont have one!
