Mountain Bread Cookbook
I discovered this cookbook on the Mountain Bread website. http://www.mountainbread.com.au/UserFiles/PDF/MountainBreadCookbook.pdf  There are some really good ideas and with a bit of tweaking and leaving some of the naughty ingredients out, some of the recipes are ideal for us SSers. Just don't look in the dessert section! I would never have thought about making noodles out of mountain bread to go with salad or stirfry, so simple! Let me know if anyone tries anything :D

Just had a look through this cookbook and it looks great. I love the MB and am always looking for new ideas and receipes for it. I made some mexican wraps thingys today with the MB. Ingredients; Vege Allowance. (I used...Onion, tomato, red capsicum, spring onion and mushroom) SS mexican spice Cheese Allowance. (I used...low fat chedder) 2 x MB I fried all the veges together with a little bit of grapeseed oil and added cracked pepper and and the SS mexican spice. I then put the mixture in the middle of 2 x MB and covered the mixture with grated cheese. I folded all 4 corners of the MB up into the middle and sealed. Then placed in oven for 10 minutes (or until brown and crispy) on 150oC. Yummy!!!

Shredding up the mountain bread is truly a treat actually. what i do is I shred it into pieces the same thickness as linguine and then I put it in a bowl so its all curled up and bake it for a few minutes till it goes hard (Not brown) then I slap together a sauce with extra lean beef mince, tomatoes, onions, bit of stock to make it a bit more runny, sweet basil and italian herb and garlic, a pinch of the sugar replacer (Helps with acidity of the tomatoes) salt and pepper. I then pour it over which makes the mountain bread go soft again but not as slimy as when you dont bake it. Whenever I have this I feel like I am cheating!
