Slow Cooker Recipes I have just purchased myself a slow cooker, and would be grateful if anyone has any healthy recipes they're happy to share if you could post them here, as now I have the thing I have no clue what to do with it
I don't mind if the recipes are not ss, just healthy would be a good start for me
Thanks all :D :D :D

Hi CW Do you mean a crock pot? If so I have a recipe I got from the SS clinic ages ago.
Crock pot spanish chicken
4 times your allowance of chicken breast fillet
1 large onion diced
1 cup green beans
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 ripe tomatoes finely chopped
Mixture of vegetables to make up remaining grammages of 4 times your vege allownace such as snow peas, cauliflower and spinach
2tsp salt or Herbamare
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp tarragon
1/4 tsp finely chopped garlic
1/4tsp coarsely ground pepper
1/2 cup water
Place everything in the crockpot.
Cover and cook on low setting for 7 1/2 - 9 hours.
Stir a couple of times and taste add more seasoning if necessary.
If too much liquid is left after cooking remove the lid and cook on high for 30 - 40 minutes.
Serve with hot toasted mountain bread.
Freeze left over portions for another day.
The great thing about crockpots is you can set it up to either cook over night so it is ready in the morning or leave to cook while you are at work.
Another recipe idea is to use 4 times your allowance of cubed beef (you can use cheaper cuts for this although not strictly recommended on SS) and a mixture of veges and seasoning as above or variations to suit your taste.

How about 6,297 recipes! http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes/crockpot
edited to add: I was just having a look around the recipe site (BTW,I love this site, especially the recipe search engine) and there was an article about crockpot cooking too. http://www.recipezaar.com/sitenews/post.php?pid=877
and one of the links on that article gives you some "healthy" recipes too. http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?categ=225%2C258%2C30&ls=p
Hope that helps.

I love cooking with my slowcooker / crockpot. I'm so looking forward to winter (especially with Shayla's news of more winter veges - pumpkin, corn, rice, pasta). I'm at LS, but try to stick to SS plan as much as possible. I put on 3kgs over winter last year, which I'm 2kgs away from losing (but that's maintenance - isn't it?). I had slow cooked pork, beef, lamb, veges, great vege soup. There's no end to wonderful meals.
A tip? I went to the websites of the brands that make slow cookers and downloaded their product brochures. They have recipes in the back of them. Ifigure that if they've got recipes in them, then they must have been tested. I haven't had a bodgy meal yet (though I get mixed up with liquid volumes).
