Sticky Sweet Asian Pork Here's a wonderful recipe they handed out at SS this week - its really yum! (Serves 1)
1 Pork fillet (I just used a pork steak)
olive oil spray
half teaspoon SS Sweet spice blend
quarter teaspoon Fennel seeds (oops, I used half)
1 star anise
2 tablespoons SS Asian dressing (I only had the asian marinade, but that was lovely)
1 tsp Xylitol or Stevia (or some other sweetener I guess)
quarter cup of water.
Preheat oven to 180C
Rub pork with Sweet Spice Blend & fennel seeds
Heat lightly oiled frypan over high heat & sear pork on both sides for approx 1 min per side, then transfer pork onto piece of foil large enough to enclose it. Fold up sides of foil.
Mix Asian dresing & sweetener together & pour over pork. Add star anise & wrap foil to seal & enclose pork.
Place on tray & bake for 20 mins (mine was done in 10ish) or until cooked to your liking.
Remove pork from foil & reserve baking juices. Allow pork to rest for 5 mins. Pour baking juices into frypan with water & bring to boil. Reduce heat & simmer 3-4 mins. Serve with steamed asian greens drizzled with baking juices.
